Dr Sebastian Kind was born in 1972 and, following a banking apprenticeship, completed his legal studies at Trier University, where he also obtained his doctorate in the law of derivative instruments. This was followed by a legal traineeship at the Düsseldorf district higher regional court (OLG), including a period working in the legal department of a major German bank in New York.
From 2003 to 2012, Dr Kind worked in the banking and finance law practice group of international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, specializing in the areas of funds structuring and project financing, and of financial law regulation and private capital market law.
During this time, Dr Kind also spent six months working for a bank in London.

Job title
The job title “Rechtsanwalt” (lawyer) was awarded to all the lawyers operating within the partnership in the Federal
Republic of Germany. As regards Dr. Drews, this also applies also to the job title “Steuerberater” (tax advisor).
Dr Kind and Dr Drews are registered as lawyers at the bar association (Rechtsanwaltskammer) of Düsseldorf, Freiligrathstraße 25, 40479 Düsseldorf.
